Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18, 1985, located in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix was aware that she was gifted for running when attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Just 10 weeks after her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200-meter race at the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix completed her high school graduation having signed a professional contract with the athletics company Adidas before enrolling at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. Felix's first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics held which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set a world junior record for running 200m in 22.18 seconds. In the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix became the world's youngest champion for the 200m. In 2007, she defended the title against her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all event she competed in at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
